Summer Adventures With Baby
Summer is officially here, so it's time to get out and about with baby! Make summer adventures easier with these safety tips from The Mountain Buggy.
TIGHT: Tighten the carrier so that your child is held close to you, as this will be more comfortable for you both.
Top testing tip: lean forward slightly, your child should stay close to your body and not move away from you.
IN VIEW: When carrying a newborn you should be able to see your child's face at all times.
Top testing tip: check that there is no fabric obstructing your view of your child.
CLOSE ENOUGH TO KISS: Your child should be positioned high up on your body when carried, with his / her head as close to your chin as comfortable.
Top testing tip: tilt your head forward, you should be able to kiss your child on the head.
KEEP CHIN OFF CHEST: Your child should never be curled so that their chin is forced into their chest, as this can restrict their airways.
Top testing tip: the gap between your child's chin and chest should be at least the width of one finger.
SUPPORTED BACK: A slightly curved 'c-shaped' spine is the ideal natural position for a growing child.
Top testing tip: use a mirror to check that your child's side profile is 'c-shaped'.
